Most educators agree they can cover more content in more depth if they do not have to spend so much time and energy that drive the behavior of disruptive students who are poor throughout classrooms. Starting Out Right
Set the tone for a good classroom management at the beginning of a new school year. Beginning a new school year or semester is the time to establish classroom rules and routines. It is a mistake for letting bad behavior slide, thinking you will address in a few weeks after the students have time to settle in. Let students know your expectations immediately.
Discuss with students the rules and procedures. Some classrooms have rules clearly posted for all to see. Help students process the reasons behind the rules. For example, a second grade class may talk about the importance of layers quickly and quietly. An eighth grade science class could talk about the correct procedure to take the equipment and puts it back. Discussing the reasons behind the rules, even when they seem obvious to you as a teacher, helping students understand what they are doing. They are not required to behave in a certain way just because the teacher said so.
Help Children Succeed
Apply the rules fairly to all people in class.Teachers know that “fair” does not always mean “equal.” A child with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) can not be expected to can sit quietly in his chair in the same way other children . Research has shown that positive reinforcement is more effective in the long run than punitive measures. Capturing your students in the act of doing something right. Becouse, if students are busy looking for awards, there will not be much time left to misbehave.
Direct and indirect teaching strategies are the two primary methods of instructional strategies are mutually reinforcing each other. Direct teaching is good to improve our conduct, but only indirectly teaching can begin to touch our “being”. They all point to a “to” improved and it is something that can not be addressed directly.
